It's 10.30pm and that's me just back in my very comfortable hotel room after what has been a long yet wholly rewarding day. I'm not going to download all of the day's activities right now, think I'll wait 'til tomorrow evening once the whole thing is over and I can assess the event over the tow days.
Suffice to say, today has been the experience of a lifetime. I've met, chatted with, mixed and mingled with some of the most senior people in one of the US's biggest corporations. Imagine my surprise when Jonathan Schwartz SUN CEO arrived in our meeting room - just as the group were discussing students - and the mic was suddenly thrust into my hand so that I could tell this highly intellectual and successful businessman just what his company needed to do to regain the cool factor and once again appeal to the early adopters and student body!!!! YIKES. I made a pretty good account of myself, with a lot of nods from senior people and the initial response - "yes you can stay". Amazing. I'll tell you all a bit more about that and the rest of the daytime events tomorrow or Thursday.
This evening we were at the Thomas Foggery Winery and that was yet again another mind blowing experience. Lots, LOTS of networking, which I'm now beginning to get rather good at. I have business cards from people who work in China, Brussels, Boston.... We also had to prepare and cook all of our own food which was a really good bonding exercise and yes, it tasted GREAT. I've popped in a couple of pics below. Again, will write more tomorrow to tell you in more detail about the people in the pics, their roles and the beginning of week two with a company that I am coming all the more part of as the days go by.

PS I'm flying back to DC Thursday, but am coming back to SF August to work for a week and meet Crawford Beveridge. Life is good.

Hey mate, sounds brilliant what you're doing. That's amazing you got to go to San Fransisco, for a moment I thought you meant you were going back to work with Saltire Foundation! And as for keeping your cool with the mic...priceless. I feel you and I are flying the flag for blog entries. I'm a few behind you but I'm catching up! Hope your having a great time jetsetting!
